The Unfinished Revolution: Notes from a Photographer in London

8/8/2025. A day the red peacock flags flew in Parliament Square, central London. As a videographer/photographer, my job is simply to document, but what I see are the faces. The faces of the elders, the veterans, attending on behalf of the comrades who gave their lives in '88, in past freedom struggles, and now in the Spring Revolution. And then, the faces of the new Spring Revolution generation, who are trying to end this fight.
The red peacock flags seen in the photos are not just flags. They are the 'Fighting Peacock' flags, which have symbolized the courage and resistance of the student unions since 1988. The places may differ, the times may change, but the spirit is singular. The will to uproot this dictatorship, to resist injustice—it is like a torch passed from one generation to the next.
Each and every one of these photographs is my way of bearing witness to history, and my way of participating in the revolution. It is a record that stands as proof of an unfinished journey, as proof of hearts whose blood has not yet run cold.
The revolution must prevail.
